This product not only works well but is a lot
cheaper than the Bracketron unit. Shop around
Amazon. Both units are priced very differently
depending what seller you but from.
Good product, good price

This takes up less space than the similar donut-shaped version I saw in a retail store, and it costs much less too. Another key advantage is that the smooth surface isn't recessed very far; if it's too recessed the bottom edge of your GPS screen might be obscured by the rim of the beanbag.

The bottom is nice and grippy and stays put well - and when you park your car, just lift the whole thing off your dash and hide it under the seat or in the glovebox - no tell-tale suction cup marks to tip off thieves.

This device is the BEST!!!
I purchased for a Garmin NUVI 260 but decided to try it out for one of my Amateur Radio units and it works wonders for the Yaesu 897 Head unit, No slip or slide even here in the mountains of Virginia where curves abound.I see a couple more of these for the Tacoma.
Easy and portable.

I own a Tomtom edition 3. I have 2 cars, a 2007 Scion TC and a 2004 Pontiac Vibe. Both have oddly shaped dashboards and the TC has a sloping windshield that prevented use of standard mounts. No matter my driving this mat DOES NOT MOVE!! Short of an accident, I don't think it will. I would recommend this product to anyone with a GPS!!
Great solution for the prudent gadgeteer

The beanbag mounts for gadgets (I use mine for my GPS navigation system) are a great way to keep an electronic device on your dash, and therefore safely within line-of-sight of your instrument panel and the road. Leaving such devices permanently mounted on the windshield show sticky-fingered criminals exactly who to target for a smash-and-grab. Even if you use a suction cup mount for easy removal, they can still see where the cup had been mounted, so pulling it off when you park is still no guarantee that you won't be a target.

This particular design is reasonably priced: I found mine for around ten bucks. It's also a simple and more aesthetically pleasing design to me than the others I saw. Best of all, it actually does the job for which it was designed: you can be shooting down a twisty road and it will stay in place on your dash! The rubbery fabric acts as a great high-friction surface. Mine has not slipped once in the two weeks I've had it.

This was a great purchase. Be sure you don't pay an exorbitant price for one, though; you can find them for much less than list price.
Very excellent high quality GPS mount for my Garmin C580

I ordered this Gilsson UBM-1 GPS dashboard mount for my Garmin C580 GPS only two days ago and received it today. It is very well constructed and a little heavier than some competing products (meaning it should be more stable). Before purchasing, I looked at several competing products (like the "Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount for Nüvi Series and StreetPilot C5XX Series GPS Navigators", "Bracketron UFM-100BL Nav-Mat GPS Friction Dash Pad", and others. Based upon some of the reviews I read from all the units, I ended up purchasing this unit. One reviewer in particular had actually owned three GPS beanbag mounts and thought this was the best. It is heavier than most, but has a smaller footprint than the Garmin unit, which is important to me because my dashboard already has a some clutter (a compass) glued to the center of it, meaning space is at a premium. Also, the GPS mounts at the top of the beanbag, not in a hole, which I considered to be an advantage.

I purchased this Gilsson UBM-1 GPS beanbag dash mount from an independent seller on amazon.com (fis4her_gps_gear ) for $12.99 plus $5.99 for priority mail shipping. The item was shipped within a couple hours after I ordered and arrived at my home in Michigan (from california) in just two days. I highly recommend them also.
exactly what I was looking for and i didn't even know it..!!? :)

at first I was a little skeptic about its capability to hold still and not roll over on me while driving. to be honest I could quite figure out its quality from the display picture. so I took a leap of faith and bought it for my iPhone three months ago. and i have never stopped using it since. its the best thing if you're not to comfortable with sticking those permanent adhesive smooth surfaced stickers on your car's precious dashboard or where ever. and best part is, it doesnt matter where you are and how bad you're drivng. it'll still hold. ;)
